Failure to give blood alcohol test lowers DUI charge

A Dyersburg man arrested for a fourth DUI charge was allowed Tuesday to plead guilty to only a second conviction because the arresting officer failed to test his blood alcohol. Prank 911 calls harass dispatchers, jeopardize public safety

Dyer County Sheriff's Department dispatchers receive mistakenly dialed 911 emergency calls several times each day, but mischievous youths intentionally placing harassing calls over and over hurt public safety, said Sheriff Jeff Holt. Mayor tells police he found 'marijuana' in pocket

Dyersburg Mayor Bill Revell informed police on Tuesday that he found suspicious "leafy" material he thought could be marijuana in a pocket of his suit jacket, an event he attributed to dirty campaigning. Fugitive leads deputies on foot pursuit -- again

Slippery fugitive Edward "Spanky" Copeland was captured in Troy on Tuesday at his girlfriend's trailer, where he was founding hiding, crouched above a hot water heater behind a wall.
