Man arrested for assault after threatening mothers of his children with gun

A Unionville man was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly pointed a gun at an adjacent vehicle that had his children, a two-year-old boy and five-year-old girl, inside. Allen Wayne Ables Jr., 26, of 150 Unionville Road, is charged with four counts of aggravated assault, violating a restraining order and being a felon in possession of a handgun. ...

Hole cut in wall by thieves to steal safe

Thieves gained entry to Cash Xpress, 140 U.S. Highway 51 Bypass, on Tuesday by cutting a hole into the rear of a store to gain access. Removed from the store was a safe that has less than $30 inside. Stabbing suspect linked to shooting

A police stop in Newbern on Wednesday night resulted in the arrest of a teenager who told authorities he was the target of the reported shooting on Saturday in Dyersburg. Newbern Police arrested Jeffery "Frezz" Ross, 18, of 220 Bowen Lane, after officers attempted to stop two suspicious cars that turned into the city park on Nora Drive at 8:12 p.m. ...
