Man tells judge lawn mower 'ate' his license

A Dyer County man whose driver's license was revoked Tuesday in Circuit Court said his lawn mower ate it. John E. Hogshooter, 35, of 1235 Meacham Rd., pleaded guilty to a charge of driving under the influence of an intoxicant (1st offense) and was sentenced by Judge Lee Moore to serve 11 months, 29 days in the Dyer County Jail, suspended to time served (eight days), to pay a $350 fine and to have his driver's license revoked for one year...

Committees that haven't met in years eliminated

Mayor John Holden deleted two committees that have seldom met in recent years from the city's roster for aldermanic appointments on Wednesday. "I couldn't find anyone who knew what they did," said Holden. Nixed from the committee list are the City Hall Committee and Building Committee.
