Officer slugged in jail by suspect

A Dyersburg Police officer was injured by a man arrested for public drunkenness while the suspect was being lodged into the Dyer County Jail on Wednesday. According to the report, DPD Officer Brian Peckenpaugh was hit in the face by Timothy McCorkle, 45, as McCorkle flew into a rage while being taken into custody at the jail. Port gets $2.5 million boost from state
