Lowe's Project Derby set for Saturday morning on store's parking lot

The parking lot of Lowe's Home Improvement Center will turn into a miniature pit row on Saturday, when the store partners with members of the community to offer its first Project Derby. Approximately 35 to 40 children in kindergarten through sixth grade have purchased a Dremel Derby Kit from the store in order to register for the race. MARTIN -- A scholarship endowment has been established for two University of Tennessee at Martin alumni, who died April 2, 2006, when severe weather, including several tornadoes, swept through Northwest Tennessee. Man accused of molesting grandsons gets 12 years

The Bonicord man charged with raping two of his grandchildren during vacation to his home in 2006 was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Tuesday on a lesser offense. Troy Wayne Binkley, 69, of 3118 Ashley Rd., entered a guilty plea on two charges of aggravated sexual assault.
