College dean had felony expunged

A library assistant promoted in May to lead Dyersburg State Community College's new Learning Resource Center had a felony criminal record expunged last year. College president Dr. Karen Bowyer on Thursday confirmed she received from an anonymous source a 2002 state audit alleging Teresa Johnson "apparently misappropriated city money totaling at least $2,118.93 for her personal benefit" while she was director of the Martin public library. ...

State delay pushes county budget past deadline

Breaking a trend of recent years, Dyer County government will have to rely on a continuation budget since the school system's financial data remains in limbo. Woman dies after truck runs off road, hits house

Suit filed against school for alleged sexual assault

A $500,000 complaint for damages was filed in May against Dyersburg Middle School by the parent of a developmentally disabled student who is alleged to have been sexually assaulted by another student while in class.
