Woman arrested for false report

A Dyersburg woman was arrested Monday for filing a false police report after she misled investigators about her being raped in June. Letitia Goldsmith, 37, 1633 Countryman St., called 911 on June 16 and told authorities she had been abducted by two men, who took her to an abandoned house off Hogwallow Road and repeatedly raped her. After two weeks of checking leads and questioning suspects, Dyersburg criminal investigators found no evidence Goldsmith had been assaulted...
