Patrol revises factor in fatal crash

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has revised a fatality report of a Newbern man who died in a motorcycle accident in July 2006. Larry "Rigid" Melder Jr., 45, of 303 Main St., was killed in an accident on Newbern-RoEllen Road less than a half-mile from Highway 104 at about 9 p.m.. He was returning home from a gathering of the Mid-South Riders clubhouse in RoEllen when he was reported to have attempted to pass a car and hit an oncoming car in the opposite lane...
