Frequent offender offered unusual sentence

A 45-year-old Halls man received an unusual sentence for violating the state’s Motor Vehicle Habitual Offender act. Everett Agee, 622 Tigrett, was sentenced to six years in a community corrections program. The lenient sentence was negotiated in Dyer County Circuit Court after learning that Agee suffers from an advanced liver disease and is awaiting a liver transplant. In a letter to the court, Agee’s doctor said that he is at a high risk for a number of medical emergencies...

Fired DAC worker has appeal on Tuesday
