Man who fled courthouse in handcuffs sentenced

A 24-year-old man who left the courthouse in handcuffs and tried to hide at a relative's house has pleaded guilty to evading arrest. Richard Gregory Smith, 1030 Wheeler, was sentenced in General Sessions Court to six months in jail, with all but 75 days suspended. He will be placed on probation for the remainder of the sentence.
