Dyersburg loses beloved spiritual leader

Area residents recently lost a beloved spiritual leader, musician, educator and friend, with the death of Bishop Perry Lee Middlebrook Jr. on Saturday, Oct. 4. The 55-year-old pastor of New Jerusalem Temple Inc., Middlebrook was a graduate of the Dyersburg High School Class of 1971. City board approves FEMA flood maps, amends flood zone ordinance

The city of Dyersburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen had a full agenda on Monday evening, with a public hearing to amend the Dyersburg Zoning Ordinance and adopt Flood Hazard Ordinance FEMA maps high on the list. "The maps are the maps presented to Dyersburg by FEMA and they are the only ones that FEMA will accept," said City Recorder Gleyn Twilla.
