Pair sentenced for money laundering, fraud charges

Two Dyer Countians were sentenced to more than two years in prison for misusing $5.5 million worth of loans to Hickman Mills in Kentucky. Lloyd Aaron Smith, 63, had pleaded guilty Oct. 13 to one count each of bank fraud and mail fraud and nine counts of money laundering. He was sentenced Wednesday to 30 months in a federal prison followed by another three years on supervised probation for each count. The sentences are to be served concurrently...
