New finale to Walk Across Tennessee emphasizes non-competitive fitness

Walk Across Tennessee organizers have their eye set on a goal and hope participants will join them. This year they hope to "Spring into Fitness" by hosting the annual event a little later in the year. City settles lawsuit with former treasurer Reed for $35,000

The Dyersburg City Board voted to approve a settlement with former City Treasurer Robert Reed in the amount of $35,000 at its regular board meeting on Monday evening. According to court documents, Reed filed suit Oct. 1, 2007, against Mayor John Holden and aldermen Bob Kirk, Bart Williams, Freeman Dudley, Kevin Chaney, Shannon Walker, Lewis Norman and Charles McCright, after his dismissal from the city treasurer's position he held from Sept. 26, 1988 until Jan. 22, 2007...
