DES receives national recognition for Tree Line USA, safety programs

Dyersburg Electric System was recently featured in the Wall Street Journal for its participation in the Tree Line USA program. In an ad placed by the Arbor Day Foundation, DES was listed among only 147 public and private utility districts recognized by the ADF as Tree Line USA 2009 Honorees. DES was the first utility company in Tennessee to join the Tree Line USA program 10 years ago. Only 10 utility companies in Tennessee were honored on the 2009 Arbor Day Foundation list...

Sunday fire causes heavy damage to church

The Dyersburg Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at the Holy Hills Baptist Church at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Sunday.
