DCHS Annual FFA Greenhouse Plant Sale and Breakfast this Saturday

The Dyer County High School Future Farmers of America will be holding their annual FFA Greenhouse Plant Sale and All You Can Eat Breakfast this Saturday, April 25. The breakfast is from 5-10 a.m. and the plant sale is from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. The price of the breakfast is $6 and includes pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy and assorted beverages. The breakfast will be held inside the school and can be accessed from the plant sale or through the front doors...

Complaints about unauthorized home-based businesses on the rise

Dyer County Building Inspector Daniel Cobb has received more calls about unauthorized in-home businesses in the last six months than ever before. He blames the economy. He said people who've been laid off or lost their jobs are putting their skills to work in home-based businesses. Cobb said he understands that they're just trying to earn money, but they can't overlook county regulations...

Students honored at DCHS academic banquet

Last week, Dyer County High School held its academic banquet to a capacity crowd. Principal Peggy Dodds praised the students for striving to do their best. Awards were given out to the top 10 percent of each class, as well as to the students who had a 4.0 GPA.
