County commission OKs transfer of funds for purchase of property for Fifth Consolidated

The Dyer County School Board met at Fifth Consolidated Elementary School on Monday to approve the transfer of $275,000 from the general-purpose school fund to the regular capital outlay account. The money will be used for the purchase of approximately 53 acres of land for a new Fifth Consolidated Elementary School. The purchase is only for the land and there are no immediate plans to build a new school, nor is there a time frame in which to build it...
