Trying to be the windshield instead of being the bug

Midway through the first round of the annual Club Championship being held at The Farms on Saturday, a simple phrase kept running through my mind. Some days you're the windshield and some days you're the bug, and on Saturday make no mistake about it, I was definitely the bug. Though feeling like I had smashed against the windshield of an 18-wheeler driving on an interstate with no speed limit, I found humor to be the best fix...

South Side escapes with 22-14 win over Choctaws

After scoring seconds before the end of the first half to knot the score at 7-7, Dyer County headed to the locker room with some much-needed momentum. The Choctaws took the field in the second half and promptly scored the go-ahead touchdown minutes into the third quarter. Unfortunately, the touchdown turned out to be the final points of the night as the Choctaws fell to visiting South Side, 22-14...

William Penn University and Georgetown College met at J.C. Sawyers Stadium on Saturday for the inaugural NAIA Big River Bowl in Dyersburg, sponsored by the West Tennessee Bone and Joint Clinic.
