Alfred Wayne Reece, 60, of Halls, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009 in Halls. Services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Archer's Chapel Methodist Church. Burial was in Archer's Chapel Cemetery in Halls. Halls Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Ag Day brings lessons from the farm

Fifth-graders from both Dyersburg City Schools and the Dyer County School System were recently treated to a taste of life on the farm with Farm Bureau's annual Ag Day. Buses ran most of the day to shuttle students from both school systems to an event sponsored by the Farm Bureau Board of Directors and Farm Bureau Women for over a decade. Dyersburg's 168th MP Battalion back in the US

The men and women of Dyersburg's 168th MP Battalion have returned to the United States after their yearlong mission in Iraq. The soldiers are currently in Fort Dix, N.J. and are scheduled to be back in Dyersburg as early as Monday. They have tentatively planned to be in Smyrna, Tenn. around noon on Monday.
