The Dyersburg City Beautiful Commission recently held its 2009 Christmas Decorating Contest, with commission members honoring many neighborhoods within the city limits and naming winners and honorable mentions in several categories. Horner appointed to Walker's seat on city board

Jewell Horner was unanimously appointed to Alderman-at-Large Position II on the Dyersburg City Board at its regular meeting on Monday, Dec. 21. In new business, Dyersburg Mayor John Holden read excerpts from the city charter explaining the city board's role in filling the position left vacant by alderman Shannon Walker and opened the floor for nominations.
