She was retired manager for Charter Oil Company in Orange, Texas and member of Trinity Baptist Church and a former member of Miston Baptist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Miston Baptist Church with the Rev. Carmon Dennison officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely. Residents with homes or property affected by the recent flooding in South Dyersburg should be cautious when choosing professionals to help restore, rebuild or restructure their homes, according to city officials. Since floodwaters began receding, the city of Dyersburg has worked closely with the state electrical inspector at Dyersburg Electric Service, both to inspect affected homes and commercial buildings in a timely manner and to ensure that electrical contractors, plumbers or general contractors are screened and receive the training needed to work on structures contaminated by floodwaters.. ...
