Trojans end season with heartbreaking loss to Kingsbury

When the final whistle blew and Dyersburg realized, with a 3-1 loss to Kingsbury in the Sectional, that the season was over, things got emotional for not only the players but for coach Greg Stapleton as well. After giving it everything they had for 80 minutes, on Saturday anyway their best wasn't good enough to advance to next week's state tournament. Lady Trojans advance to state meet

Needing to place in the top two at sectionals in order to secure a spot at the state meet in Murfreesboro, the DHS Lady Trojan track team didn't take any chances. In short, the squad blew past the competition. In all, the squad set seven new school records and ran away with the top spot at the event, easily outpointing the competition with a team total of 162, compared to 113 for second-place finisher Booker T.
