Logan Benjamin Anderson, 77, died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at his residence. He was born June 30, 1932 in the Tiger Tail community of rural Dyer County. At the age of 21, he was drafted into the Army and served in the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged, he returned home to Tennessee and began a lifelong career of being self-employed in a variety of business ventures. He was truly the definition of "Jack of all Trades"...

County planners discuss LED signs, road plan, map

New sign regulations, a new land use map and changes to the major road plan will be considered next month by the Dyer County Regional Planning Commission. Commissioners briefly considered each one and requested changes on Thursday afternoon. Newbern library falls victim to thieves

The Newbern City Library was recently burglarized when thieves stole a pair of decorative iron gates from the institution. Newbern Police have been noticing a rise in thefts, especially the theft of metal which they believe is being sold as scrap.
