County planners say no to sign ordinance

The Dyer County Regional Planning Commission unanimously rejected a sign ordinance Thursday. Members preferred to leave the zoning regulations the way they are. Donny Bunton, a principal planner with the Local Planning Assistance Office, said the current regulations allow signs in commercial districts and allows signs as a "use permitted on appeal" for churches, home-based businesses and bed and breakfast establishments in forestry, agriculture and residential (FAR) zones. ...
