Transportation committee elects officers

Larry Maupin was selected Monday as chairman of the Dyer County Commission's Transportation Committee. Jimmy Hester was re-elected as the committee's secretary. Prison sentence given for firearms charge

A 31-year-old Dyersburg man was sentenced Friday in U.S. District Court in Jackson to 57 months in a federal prison. Kevin Lynn Bolden, 1887 Cumberland, had pleaded guilty May 19 to unlawful transport of firearms. Driver dies from injuries in Thursday's crash
