Fashion show to benefit sorority

The Dyersburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will present the Finest Men on Delta's Runway on Oct. 23. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. in the Dyersburg Middle School. Two people were killed in a house fire in the Fowlkes Community early Sunday. Shirley Jo Stephens, 51, and her husband, Thomas Lynn Stephens, 41, both of 118 N. Market St., apparently died of smoke inhalation. Dyer County Sheriff Jeff Box said the couple was found in a hallway. It appeared they were trying to leave their home when they succumbed to the smoke, he said...
