Feed the Need is Friday, volunteers needed

The Feed the Need food distribution will be Friday, Oct. 15, at the National Guard Armory and volunteers are again needed. Last month, the event had its largest distribution of food to date, with a total of 103,000 pounds. Early voting begins

Beginning today, registered voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots for the Nov. 2 general election. Jane Heathcott, administrator of elections for Dyer County is encouraging all voters to take advantage of early voting. "Local voters have come to enjoy the benefits and convenience of voting early," said Heathcott. "Voters can vote at their convenience and not worry about rushing to the polls on Election Day."...

Attempted murder charges dropped against 2 of 3

Attempted murder charges were dismissed Friday in Dyersburg city court against two of three men accused of threatening to kill a man on Sept. 29. Charges against the third man - Jimmy Allen Warden, 34, 416 Dotson Road in Halls - were bound over to the action of a Dyer County grand jury. Warden is charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated burglary and aggravated assault...
