Tom Lee Bright Sr., 71, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis. He was an Evangelist and Director for Online Academy of Biblical Studies and member of Phillips Street Church of Christ. Evangelism was his life. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Street Church of Christ with Bro. Ted Thrasher, Bro. Tom Bright, Jr. and Bro. Terry Lyon officiating. Burial will be in Sapulpa, OK. Suspect arrested on meth charge

Dyersburg Police arrested a man on drug charges after a traffic stop on Wednesday. Justin Lawson, 25, 7013 Miss Kelly Loop, Finley, is charged with possession of methamphetamines with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. Lawson was the passenger in a vehicle with two other people when a DPD K-9 unit pulled them over on South Main Street for expired vehicle registration. Two suspects are in jail following an early Sunday morning robbery, in which one of the men fired a handgun inside an apartment in Newbern.
