Walking off the track at MTSU after a long day of covering the TSSAA meet, the realization set in while driving back to the hotel that, with the meet complete, spring sports had officially come to a close. One of the more interesting things about spring sports is, while there are many teams including baseball, softball, soccer and track all flowing through a season at the same time, they all come to a close rather quickly and close to the same time...

DC trio selected for Team Tennessee honor

Though the Dyer County baseball team may not have advanced to the state tournament this past season, for two players as well as Choctaw head coach Preston Ozment the baseball season continues, but at a much higher level. Ozment, vice-president of the TBCA (Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association), will serve as manager and head of operations for Team Tennessee, while soon-to-be seniors Colton Harris and teammate Andrew Massie have been selected to participate in the 15th Annual Junior Sunbelt Classic being held in McAlester, Okla.. ...

DHS soccer banquet award winners

The Trojan Soccer team won the Region 7 A/AA Championship and were a quarterfinalist at the TSSAA state tournament. The team also earned the TSSAA Distinguished Academic Award with a 3.7 GPA.
