Basil Glynn Jones, 57, of Ripley, died Monday, Aug. 15, 2011 at Lauderdale Community Hospital. He was an employee of Berry Plastics Inc. Gaither Vocal Band vet Penrod kicking off concert season

Obion County Navy SEAL to be laid to rest Friday, Aug. 26

Obion County hero Aaron Vaughn will be laid to rest on Friday, Aug. 26, at a private military funeral in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Vaughn was one of 17 SEALs killed when the CH-47 Chinook helicopter they were riding crashed in Wardak province in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday, Aug. 6. Vaughn's remains were flown to Dover Air Force Base in Delaware last week and had to be identified using a variety of methods including dental records and fingerprints...
