Former air base hosts Wings Over Halls

Residents throughout the West Tennessee region were offered a variety of exhibits, performances and vendors as the former Dyersburg Army Air Base was transformed for the 2011 Wings Over Halls Air Show on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 24 and 25. In addition to a breathtaking show of aerial acrobatics and vintage war birds, the air base surrounding the Halls Veterans Museum featured a close-up view of aircraft, living history exhibits and vendors. The Wings Over Halls Air Show was a tradition for the West Tennessee community until 2001. The annual event returned in 2010 and has again become a draw for veterans and spectators from across the nation.

Dyer County locations featured on national hunting show

Dyersburg residents who tune in with 35 million Sportsman Channel viewers this week will see a touch of home when "Drake's Migration Nation" host J. Paul Jackson shares three unique duck-hunting locations in West Tennessee. Jackson, a Dyer County native who still resides in RoEllen, recently completed production on season two of his national series on duck hunting. ...

Dyersburg kicks off autumn with Main Street Fall Festival

Construction on the Historic Courthouse Square may have affected the location of Dyersburg's Main Street Fall Festival, but area residents didn't seem to mind. Vintage cars and trucks lined Mill Avenue and Masonic Street to compete in the Forked Deer Antique Car Club's annual Car Show, with officials reporting a rise in attendance for the last day of the Main Street Farmer's Market...
