Port Authority adopts resolution for repayment

The Northwest Tennessee Regional Port Authority set up a committee to review proposals submitted for consultant services during their December meeting held at the Main Street Centre in Tiptonville. Port Authority attorney John Lannom reported that he and Chairman Jimmy Williamson received advice in the last month that it should hire the services of a consultant familiar with port operations to draft a suitable business plan for the operation of the port, which is under construction and is to be completed by late 2012.. ...

Health Council approves trail plan, hears updates

The Dyer County Health Council has added its endorsement to the master plan of a trail system designed to add miles of bike and walking trails to the community. The nod of approval came at the council's December meeting, held in the Professional Development Center at 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 13. Newbern murder suspect among Dec. indictments

Included among the indictments was Newbern murder suspect John Dewain Bailey, 45, who was indicted for first-degree murder.
