Alva "Bud" George Lovins, 84, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at his residence. He was a retired owner of Vandevelde Hardware Store, member of Fowlkes Baptist Church and an avid fisherman and gardener. Car given away at last year's fair quarantined for meth

The car given away at last year's Dyer County Fair was recently quarantined and its occupants arrested after a Dyer County Sheriff's Department investigator located a meth lab in it during a traffic stop. On Friday afternoon, Inv. Stoney Hughes had received information of people possibly cooking meth in the Tennemo community near the Mississippi River. City board OKs continuing budget
