Firefighters extinguish small fire at business

Firemen with the Dyersburg Fire Department extinguish the remaining flames of a fire to a wooden staircase behind the Hilliard Lyons building at 1950 Highway 51 Bypass. Firefighters responded to the fire on Tuesday afternoon after billowing smoke was seen coming from behind the building. The fire was confined to the outside wooden structure and mulch area in the rear of the building. Fire officials said the cause of the fire is unknown at this time...

Police searching for culprits in stolen handgun case

Dyersburg Police are investigating the burglary of a business in which 11 handguns were reported to have been stolen on Monday evening. Around 10:30 p.m., police responded to an alarm call at Cycle Werks, 125 Hwy. 51 Bypass and discovered entry had been made into the business.
