Frances Marion Flatt Bennett, 87, of Dyersburg, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012 at The Bridge in Ridgely. She was a retired nurse and a member of Phillips St. Church of Christ. Terrence Moses was found guilty of murdering 17-year-old JaRon Collins last July, but the verdict is bittersweet for the mother who said Moses has destroyed more lives than just her son's. Lossie Sayles, a patrol officer for the Indianapolis, Ind. Police Department, is the mother of Collins and was in Dyersburg for Moses' murder trial. ...

Jamborees end with winning results for local squads

While making the trip to Chester County on Friday night for the first of two high school football jamborees involving local squads, it began to sink in that another gridiron season was almost here. Covering all sports throughout the year certainly has its exciting moments, but by far the one that gets my juices flowing the most is football.
