Sonic Drive-Ins raise over $1,800 for St. Jude

The three area Sonics collaborated to raise over $1,800 for St. Jude. The Sonic location on St. John Avenue is managed by Mark Waldron and raised $575. The location on Highway 51 is managed by Terry Funderburk and raised $831 and last, but not least, the Newbern location managed by Teri Peevyhouse raised $421. Walton named new assistant director at TTC

Donnie Walton, a former teacher at Obion County Central High School, has been named the new assistant director at the Tennessee Technology Center in Newbern. Walton was a teacher at OCCHS for the past seven years and was the boys' and girls' golf coach. Ripley High School honors murdered teen during commencement ceremony

As a gesture of how much a former student meant to the school and its students, Ripley High School presented an honorary diploma to the mother of JaRon Collins. Collins was a student of Ripley High School, but was murdered in the early morning of hours of Saturday, July 30, 2011 on Parks Thurman Circle in the Dyersburg Housing Authority. ...
