Rotary Club hosts annual barbecued chicken sale

Member of the Dyersburg Rotary hosted its annual 'Chicken BBQ' sale at Okeena Park on Friday. Half chickens were slow-cooked beginning at 4:30 a.m. and were sold at $6. All proceeds from the event go toward supporting local charities.

Russian MiG stops in for a visit

A MiG-17F plane, used primarily during the Vietnam War and the primary nemesis of the F-4 Phantom plane, made a scheduled fuel stop at Dyersburg Municipal Airport on Friday, June 7. The plane was on its way to Dayton, Ohio from Shreveport, La. to participate in an air show on June 22 and 23 in Dayton. The plane will then be on its way to Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Texas for air shows later this summer. The plane's pilot, Randy Ball made the trip in just under an hour. The MiG-17F has a top speed of 715 miles per hour.

FDA finds fungus in drugs from Newbern pharmacy

WASHINGTON (AP) - Federal health officials say they have found bacteria and fungus in drug vials from a Tennessee specialty pharmacy that recalled all of its injectable medicines last month.
