The home of Liz and Jim Horner at 907 Wade Hampton has been chosen as the Dyersburg City Beautiful Commission Beauty Spot for May. The lawn was selected for the beautiful landscape design, vast array of blooming seasonal plants, and overall neatness. The residence features an elegant display of decorative shrubs and blooming seasonal plants including crepe myrtles, oak leaf hydrangeas, azaleas, camellias, and boxwoods. In addition, magnolia, dogwood and gingko trees adorn the home with splendor. The monthly Beauty Spot is awarded to residents in recognition of their contribution to community and neighborhood beautification.

The Annual Tommy Lipford Memorial 4-Person Golf Scramble will be held at the Dyersburg Municipal Golf Course at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 15. Lunch will be served to participants at noon. Cash prizes to winners (flights determined by number of entries), contests on all Par 3 holes. A $25,000 vehicle for Hole in One is sponsored by Delta Autoplex. The cost is $50 per person (includes green fees, cart and lunch). Mulligans are two for $10. You must wear soft spikes and proper golf attire. Rain date to be determined.
