June Beauty Spot
(Local News ~ 06/22/13)
The home of Dr. and Mrs. Roger Shore, located at 520 Ford St., in Dyersburg has been chosen by the Dyersburg City Beautiful Commission as the city's June Beauty Spot. The lawn was chosen for its creative design. Judges were impressed by the yard, designed to fit the terrain of its steep slope. The space has been well filled without being overcrowded. Photinias, nandinas and many varieties of hydrangeas are found among the many shrubs, with mostly perennial flowers offering their blossoms all season long. At this time, lilies (whose bulbs originally belonged to the grandparents of the homeowners) are currently on display, with larkspur, irises, yarrows, daisies, coneflowers and peonies also ready to bloom within their season. The yard offers passersby a spirit of adventure and a retreat to relax and enjoy.
