Sinkhole appears near Todd's Café

City employees are waiting for a dry spell to repair this sinkhole next to Todd's Café, just off the Dyersburg Courthouse Square. Dyersburg Street Superintendent Dale Snyder said the hole was created when a pipe collapsed underground. City wins appeal of Peckenpaugh case

The case between Sgt. Brian Peckenpaugh of the Dyersburg Police Department and the Personnel Merit Board and the city of Dyersburg is one step closer to coming to a finish as Judge Tony Childress published his findings on Wednesday, July 3. Childress' 11-page order outlines the facts of the case as well as the case law and his reasoning for upholding the board's November 2012 decision to sustain the DPD decision to suspend Peckenpaugh for eight days for his actions in a misdemeanor case on March 26, 2012. ...
