City teachers take part in school bus tour

Kidnapping suspect told to reside with sister under release conditions

A Dyersburg woman accused of trying to kidnap a 3-year-old child has been released from jail on the condition she not return to Dyer County unless accompanied by her sister. Deborah Claybrooks, 51, 321 King, Dyersburg, Tenn. appeared in Dyersburg City Court on Tuesday, July 23, on a charge of especially aggravated kidnapping. ...

DPD investigating deadly single-car accident

Dyersburg Police are investigating a deadly one-vehicle accident on Upper Finley Road on Friday afternoon that took the life of a Dyersburg man. The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Friday when a green 1998 Chevrolet Lumina was traveling westbound on Upper Finley Road. Approximately 25 yards west of the Jenkinsville-Jamestown Road turnoff, the car reportedly left the road and became airborne after hitting a culvert. The car flipped and landed on its top.

Haslam visits Port of Cates Landing

Gov. Bill Haslam took his first tour of the Port of Cates Landing on Thursday afternoon since the $20 million port was completed earlier this summer.
