Eugene Gruggett, of Newbern, died Saturday, July 27, 2013. He was the son of the late Chester Lee and Verbelle (Vinson) Gruggett. He was a self-employed construction contractor. He is survived by his wife Brenda (Carroll) Gruggett of Newbern; a son, Keith Allen Gruggett of Finley; two daughters, Tana Moses of Dyersburg and Jessica Wilson of Ridgely; a brother, Barry Gruggett of Ripley; and four sisters, Roma Ables of RoEllen, Priscilla Anderson of Dyersburg, Louis Webb of Newbern and Martha Chaudhury of Obion.. ...

Collared Shirt and School Supply Giveaway is Saturday

On Saturday, Aug. 17, Pure Sophistication SC will host its 3rd annual Collared Shirt and School Supply Giveaway. The event will take place at the Future City Community Center in Dyersburg, Tenn. Children ages kindergarten and up can come and take part in the back-to-school celebration. There will be food, games, prizes, and students will receive one collared shirt as part of their school uniform. The child must be present to receive the shirt. Feed the Need asking for volunteers Friday
