The yard of Shryel Harris located on Gordon Avenue has been chosen as the August Beauty Spot by members of the Dyersburg City Beautiful Committee. Judges chose the property for the many varieties of colorful flowers in the landscape design and the many hours Harris spends in her yard.

Community Orchestra receives grant

The Tennessee Arts Commission and Northwest Tennessee Development District recently announced a grant for the 2013-2014 season of the Dyersburg Community Orchestra. The DLOS season opens with a performance by Franc D'Ambrosio on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the First Citizens National Bank Auditorium at Dyersburg State Community College. County to receive First to the Top supplemental funding

Dyer County Schools recently received a boost from the Tennessee Department of Education, a financial bonus state officials hope will help advance the core purpose of Tennessee's First to the Top plan. Suspects nabbed in undercover prescription drug operation

Two suspects were recently indicted by the Dyer County Grand Jury after the Dyer County Sheriff's Dept. conducted an undercover prescription drug sting. Travis W. Thomason, 385 Magnolia Road, Tiptonville, Tenn., was indicted for violation of the Motor Vehicle Habitual Offender Act; two counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver a Schedule II controlled substance (methadone) in an amount less than half a gram. ...
