Plans for old jail building considered at county law committee meeting

The Dyer County Law Enforcement Committee convened a called meeting on Thursday afternoon primarily to discuss how to finish making improvements on the old Dyer County Jail facility to make it inhabitable for inmates once again. Sheriff Jeff Box proposed some innovative ideas to the committee, including charging prisoners a $10 fee that would be assessed through their commissary fund for issued items, which cost approximately $152 per inmate. ...
