Dyer County Fair Fashion Revue

The Dyer County Fair was home to high fashion and beautiful handcraftsmanship on Tuesday, Sept. 3, when the Dyer County Extension Service presented its Family and Community Education Club Fashion Revue. The revues took place in the Family Living Center at the Dyer County Fairgrounds at 6:30 p.m. Several competitions and categories were available for local seamstresses. Participants were not required to be a member of an FCE Club to compete. Here, models in the Preschool Fashion Revue pose in garments created by winning seamstresses Kathleen Yates and Caitlin Fogarty. Junior Miss Dyer County Fair

As the contestants took to the stage for the Junior Miss Dyer County Fair, judges were tasked to decide on who would be crowned queen. Taking home the title of 2013 Junior Miss Dyer County Fair was Edie Kate Ward (front, second from left). Joining Ward in her court are (front row, from left): First Maid - Hallie Gibson; Queen - Edie Kate Ward; Second Maid - Jenna Claire Flatt; and Third Maid - Lily-Cate Lindley.

Little Miss Dyer County Fair

Judges had a difficult decision in choosing who would wear the crown during Thursday evening's Little Miss Dyer County Fair beauty pageant. However, after the judges tallied their scores they decided Ava Claire Throgmorton would be crowned queen. She was joined by several other Dyer County beauties to be part of her court. Halls gets $105,000 grant for water line, job creation

A new investment in Halls, Tenn. will help create 14 new jobs and retain 10 existing jobs. The $105,300 investment by the Delta Regional Authority will be applied toward the construction of a water line to attract new businesses to Halls. Dyersburg Police investigating downtown bank robbery

Dyersburg Police, along with the FBI, are searching for a suspect who robbed the First Citizens National Bank main branch in downtown Dyersburg on Thursday morning. Dyersburg Asst. Police Chief Steve Isbell said a black male entered the bank around 11:17 a.m. and brandished a handgun to a teller. The suspect then left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
