Jayne Sorrell and members of the RoEllen Grammar School reunion committee are busy planning a reunion for residents who attended the school. The event, planned for Sunday, Sept. 29, is the third reunion for students and faculty who once walked the halls of RoEllen Grammar School. Best Western hotel sold at public auction

The Best Western hotel in Dyersburg was sold on Tuesday, Sept. 10 at a public auction for an unconfirmed amount. According to Mark Johnston, attorney for First Citizens National Bank, who held the public auction at the Dyer County Courthouse, the lot was sold "to an individual who had the highest and best bid." Dyersburg Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Dollar General Store located at 801 East Court St. Police were dispatched to the store at approximately 2:18 p.m., and informed by store personnel that a black male wearing dark color pants, hoodie, and bandana covering his face entered the store and robbed the store clerk at gunpoint.
