Annual Halls Christmas light display set for Thursday evening

Beyond this archway at the home of Shirley and Johnny Nelson lies a winter wonderland. Each year, the family lights up their quiet corner of Meeks Road in Halls with over a half-million lights. Curving pathways and a children's train offer a closer view of the light show. Admission is free. A rainy forecast will limit the annual visit from Santa to 6-9 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 19. Woman indicted on 18 counts of prescription forgery

A Newbern woman was arraigned this week in Dyer County Circuit Court after being indicted by a grand jury for allegedly forging numerous prescriptions to get the painkiller hydrocodone. Dana Johnson, 40, 2014 Enochs Road, Newbern, Tenn., was indicted by the Dyer County Grand Jury last week on 18 counts for obtaining possession of a controlled substance...

DPD's roundup of alleged drug dealers continues
