Dyer County Rescue Squad ribbon cutting
(Business ~ 03/09/14)
City and county officials gather to dedicate the new ambulance service at the Dyer County Rescue Squad in Newbern. Various agencies have partnered to provide faster response times for residents of Newbern, Churchton, Trimble, Millsfield and East Dyer County. Newbern Mayor Olen Parker reads a proclamation celebrating the new home of an ambulance at the Dyer County Rescue Squad in Newbern. Providing a permanent home for an emergency vehicle to service the northern portion of Dyer County was a dream of former Dyer County Rescue Squad Director Ricky Gatlin, who passed away in April 2010. The ribbon cutting was a bittersweet event for those who knew and loved Gatlin. The event was also a celebration of a new partnership between several community agencies that will provide faster response times to those in need in the areas of Newbern, Churchton, Trimble, and portions of East Dyer County and Millsfield.
