ABWA Girls' Night Out draws big crowd, raises money for scholarship fund

Approximately 300 guests attended this year's fourth annual Girls' Night Out, which is sponsored by the American Business Women's Association's Southern Accent Chapter. The event was held during the first week of April at the Dyersburg State Community College gymnasium. The event allows women to shop, promote their businesses, and network among their peers. Fifty vendors offered guests an assortment of jewelry, clothing, pottery, homemade soaps, services, flower arrangements, food, and much more. All proceeds from the event go to benefit the ABWA 2014 DSCC Scholarship Fund. In 2012, ABWA raised $3,000 that was donated in scholarships and in 2013, they were able to increase their donation to $3,750 and provide three scholarships: two for $1,500 each and one for $750. "We were blessed with great vendors and a great crowd to allow us to continue to fund scholarships for another year," said Laura Beth Butler, ABWA treasurer and FCNB CFO.
