Fireworks planned for Fourth of July

Dyersburg's annual fireworks display is set for July 4 at the Dyer County Fairgrounds. The show is scheduled to begin around 9 p.m. with the best viewing area from the baseball fields across from the fairgrounds. Tennessee Highway Patrol to increase visibility during Fourth of July weekend

NASHVILLE -- The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) will conduct a high-visibility enforcement campaign during this year's Fourth of July holiday period, beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, July 3 and ending at midnight on Sunday, July 6. State troopers will utilize a variety of traffic safety tools, such as driver's license, sobriety and seat belt checkpoints, saturation patrols, and "No Refusal" enforcement, in an effort to reduce serious injury and fatal crashes on Tennessee roadways...

Dyersburg man charged with first-degree murder

A Dyersburg man has been charged with first-degree murder after reportedly stabbing his wife early Thursday morning. Willie T. Harris, 48, was charged Thursday afternoon and is set to be arraigned Friday morning on the murder charge
