County commission to meet Monday

The Dyer County Legislative Body will hold a public hearing at 6:15 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, prior to the regularly scheduled monthly meeting. THP goes larger to provide safer roads

Tennessee Highway Patrol officers were out in full force this past week in the refurbished semi-truck and trailer that were previously seized during a drug bust. The trailer houses six simulators and a command center for students to utilize as reminders of the safety rules of the road. Pictured, left to right, are THP Trooper Tony Freeze, Sgt. William Butler, THP Trooper Nick Hollowell and THP Trooper Jerry Mealer. The THP sergeant and troopers patrolled drivers for signs of texting-while-driving and other forms of distractions while behind the wheel.
